Apache Con US 2004, Las Vegas #1

Apache Con US 2004, Las Vegas

Arghhh, the princess in me is feeling miserable.

I just arrived at the hotel for the Apache Convention 2004. So I'm at this Alexis Park Resort, Las Vegas, and it sucks. It sucks profound, truly deep, 100% A1, genuine shit. They are renovating everywhere and it's ugly and it stinks (proof of the ugliness attached, I wish I could let you have the smell too). And the frontdesk people are just immensely stupid. They didn't get my name in the reservation and didn't get my boss' credit card authorization either, so I had to go over it all about 20 times with them. And then I got scared for Xavier who is joining me tomorrow. I asked to check with my own eyes on their PC screen if they registered his name correctly so that he doesn't have to wait in the lobby until I wake up on monday morning. And of course the internet connection doesn't work and I'm waiting for the engineer to come and fix it as I'm writing this. Ah well... I'm not going to complain about this crappy place again, I swear, but keep my suffering in mind.

On the more intellectual side of my brain, I've been busy compairing the airline that got me here, Air Canada, with my previous experience with Jetsgo. Well, gents, the numbers are in and you can judge by yourself :

Air Canada 324.51CAD* Jetsgo 359.14CAD**
Free movie/music/CBC-RC news 10$ extra
2 free snack & beverage servings 15$ extra
1 free coffee & pastry serving 10$ extra
1 courtesy alcoholic drink (for a 30 minutes delay at T.O) N/A (7$ extra)
1 free complete hot meal (salad, hot pasta, bread, dessert, beverage 20$ extra
Excellent service (pillow, blanket, everything) N/A

* all fees and taxes included, price actually paid. ** all fees and taxes included, that's what you can find today on Jetsgo's website.

So, in total, you get to pay 386.51 CAD for a "budget" service on Jetsgo (421.14 + 62.00 extras). That's 100 CAD more than a full-featured service on Air Canada!!!!!!!! Budget, my a$$.

So, I'm going out, now... This is Las Vegas after all.

Don't miss the picture album on flickr, I will be updating as things unfold...
